Mirronet Terms of Use

1. Introduction and Application Overview

Welcome to Mirronet, a vibrant and inclusive social network platform with a special focus on security and the location of connections. Our application is designed to bring together people from the same region and culture, providing a safe and engaging environment for social interaction.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Mirronet regarding your use of the Mirronet mobile application (available on Android and iOS) and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use the Service.

2. User Eligibility and Account Creation

To use the Mirronet Service, you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater.

You can create an account using your email address or through social login options (Google, Facebook, or Apple ID). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. The following information is mandatory for account creation:

Multi-login is not permitted on the Mirronet platform. You may only maintain one active session at a time.

3. Location Services and Privacy

Mirronet is a location-based social networking application. By using our Service, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your location data as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

3.1 Security Features

Mirronet offers several location-based security features:

• Witch Help: Allows you to send your live location to designated helpers in case of emergency.
• Offline Mode: Your precise location is shared with designated guardians if you are offline for 30 minutes.
• Location History ("Footprints"): Tracks and presents your location history with filters for the last day, week, and month.
• Geo-Fencing Alerts ("Witch Fence"): Allows you to set virtual boundaries around specific areas, triggering notifications to your guardians when you enter or exit these zones.
• Automatic Check-ins: Shares notifications with friends in public places when you enter the same area (can be toggled on/off).

3.2 Location Data Usage

By using Mirronet, you acknowledge and consent to:

• Your real-time location being visible to friends on the map tab.
• Your location being shared with designated guardians when using security features.
• Your location being attached to messages, calls, posts, and comments depending on your privacy settings.
• Location information being used to suggest relevant discussion forums.
• Location data being stored and processed to provide the Services.

You can manage your location sharing preferences through the app settings, but please note that certain core functionalities of the app require location data to function properly.

4. Content and Conduct Guidelines

4.1 User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you create, post, or share on Mirronet ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Mirronet a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, publicly display, and distribute such content on and through the Service.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have obtained all necessary rights to the User Content you post.
• Your User Content does not violate the rights of any third party, including intellectual property rights and privacy rights.
• Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.

4.2 Prohibited Content and Conduct

You agree not to post, share, or engage in any of the following:

• Content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, or otherwise objectionable.
• Content that promotes discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, harassment, or harm against any individual or group.
• Content that is sexually explicit or pornographic.
• Content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights.
• Unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, spam, pyramid schemes, or other forms of solicitation.
• Information that you know is false, misleading, or designed to manipulate others.
• Activities that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper functioning of the Service.
• Attempts to access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Service, Mirronet's computer systems, or the technical delivery systems of Mirronet's providers.
• Attempts to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network, or breach any security or authentication measures.
• Attempts to collect or harvest any personally identifiable information from other users.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable for any reason, without prior notice.

5. Communication Features

5.1 Messaging and Calls

Mirronet provides messaging features that allow users to communicate with each other. These features include:

• Text messages
• Audio messages
• Audio calls
• Video calls

Each message and call will include timestamp information and location data according to your privacy settings.

5.2 Message Requests

When you receive a message from a user with whom you have never communicated before, you will have the option to accept or block the conversation. If you choose to block a user, they can still send messages, but these messages will not be delivered to you.

5.3 Social Interaction

The platform allows you to:

• Send and receive friend requests
• Create and share posts with various privacy settings
• Like and comment on posts
• View a news feed with posts from friends
• Participate in location-based discussion forums
• View and create events on the event calendar

6. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Mirronet and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries.

Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of Mirronet.

7. Termination and Account Suspension

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms.

If your account is suspended by our admin due to reported activity, you will receive a notification explaining the suspension. You may contact our support team if you believe the suspension was made in error.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service or contact us to request account deletion.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Mirronet, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service;
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
• Any content obtained from the Service; and
• Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content,

whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

9. Disclaimers

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

Mirronet does not warrant that:

• The Service will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location;
• Any errors or defects will be corrected;
• The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; or
• The results of using the Service will meet your requirements.

While we strive to provide accurate and reliable location services, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of location data.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
